Mike Illitch was a Detroit icon who just past away a few weeks ago. He did more than own the Red Wings, Tigers and Little Caesars Pizza. He genuinely cared for his sports teams and the city of Detroit. Because of Ilitch, Detroit is lit up by Comerica Park, The Joe, and Hockey Town Cafe. He was a good character all around for the environment. He paid Rosa Parks rent for the rest of her life. He felt its the best way he could repay her for her actions. and obviously paid off. At the end of the day, Mike Ilitch was an excellent guy with great ambitions on the world. Detroit will not be the same without him. The article by Mitch Albom

The article "A Good Life Contains These Six Essentials" has points that are all mesmerizing. The two that I have connected with most is good friends, and my family and my inner circle. To me, Those are kind of the same thing. I think that because I consider my friends my family. I have mostly friends that are from hockey and are very very close with some of them. Does not matter how old or when we met, we share the same interest. My blood family, now we are a very close family and I am very thankful for all of them. A close family is always happiness because they are always there for you. So is my other hockey family. I am very content with my friend group and my family and thankful for everything they have done for me.
The author of this article is Jim Rohn. He was an American entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker. Born September 17th, 1930 and dying in December 5th, 2009. He was from Yakima, Washington. The article "15 qualities of mentally tough people" brings up points of where I am right now and my emotional status. What I am good at is being emotionally intelligent. I know the right place and time to use them. I handle depressing situation very well. Now what I am bad is saying no and forgiving without an apology. Those are the ones that stood out for personally. Saying no is hard for me for some reason because I do not like to disappoint people, but sometimes, I say yes to pointless things that just cause me to have a hassle. I also tend to forgive without an apology. Someone could make me upset, then as time goes on I forget about without even talking to them about it. This is serious if I am ever involved with criminal activity. But, I notice these flaws and I am doing my best to work on them.
I connected with him saying you take whatever you have for granite and pretend you do not care about it, but, when you are in jeopardy of losing, it suddenly means the world to you. Almost like losing a relative that requires a lot of medical attention, they may require a lot of needs and a pain to keep around. But, when you are about to lose them, it is the end of the world. Another thing he brought up is enthusiasm. If you go into something with a bad attitude, the outcome will be upsetting. But, If you only think of the positives of whatever you're doing, the outcome of being there will be positive. He spoke some very strong words and brought out the reality of life.
There is some things that scare me more than ever. That is going off to college and It is going to happen this year and thought of leaving all the family behind is tough. Every piece of Homework and every single piece of effort given into high school leads right into how you will do in college. High school flew by and I'm sure I will like high school way better than college.
Dale Carnegie was an american writer and lecturer developer of famous courses in self- improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. This heart shows a perfect example of what life is full of. People have two sides of them. Positive and negative. Everyone including yourself, sounds crazy but it is true. I have a negative side when it comes to certain things. Such as every time someone does something to me I believe in revenge even if they are messing around. I am very competitive and try to control that and I have gotten better. I do have a lot happiness in life and am very satisfied with it though!
Confidence, skill, and conditon are the threee things in my opinion that are the key to success. You need to have confidence in what you are doing and try new things when you are doing anything. You need skill in what you are doing so the chance of you trying something new, it will have the odds for the better. Be good at what you are doing. Condition is important because when you mentally and physically pepare yourself, you are unstoppable. Have the brain and the body, everyhting you do has a mental spectrum.
Over break, it started off very well, I went home from school, and then took a nap. When I woke up it was time to go to my hockey game in Garden City vs. Lavonia. We ended up winning 7-3. The next day is when it started to get bad for the day. I was in 7-11 with my friend; on my way out I hear a bang and someone driving away. Someone backed into my car and took off and half of my grill fell off. But I wasn’t going to let that ruin my breakJ. The rest of the break I was with family and friends a lot. I played pond hockey with some teammates on New Year’s Day. Christmas eve we always have a family party after church. Full of laughs and fun and is the one time of year my family gets together. The best part about the break was it gave me time to appreciate my friends and family I have and I am happy I got to spend time with them.
"Accepting responsibility is one of the highest forms of human maturity. A willingness to be accountable, to put yourself on the line, is really the defining characteristic of adulthood." — Jim Rohn
This term is one of the biggest of highschool. You have to finish applying for collegs and get ready to decide what you want to do with your life. Chosing what college you want to go to. Mostly, what will make you happy as a person. My goal this winter term is to figure all of that out. Time is short and it goes fast. So, do my work first with colleges and do a lot of thinking and figure out what I am going to do and what I want to be. Try to get good grades also as a senior, focus on the things that matter. Try not to get distracted. This trimester is going to be an up hill battle with everything going on, but I know that I can get through it. |
